This was a back up done just before the "update" and used 11.6.1.
(Although it is hit or miss if they work), I previously had SuperDuper make "bootable" copies of the Mac Mini's hard drive and one of those copies actually boots up my Mac Mini 2018.

icc profiles then do not update to Mac OS 11.6.2, stay at an earlier version or jump to Monterey12.1.ĭoes seem like it is due to the ColorSync changes made with the update from 11.6.1 to 11.6.2. Apple is apparently looking into this further. Returning to Big Sur 11.6.1 (if able) OR updating to Monterey 12.1 (if willing) seems to be the quickest solution. SUMMARY: Big Sur 11.6.2 will cause issues with how the macOS handles. They all appear functional (have not tried each and every one yet) and now the “printer settings" dialog box comes up as it should and the test prints so far are fine. icc profiles in ColorSync Utility and they were ALL there, just like in 11.6.1.

I could find no problems (yet) with my software or hardware that Monterey might have introduced (I have not looked at any of the new added features of Monterey as they were not all that important to my use of the computer). Monterey installed without issue (Mac mini 2018).
If, however, the update to 11.6.2 has a “bug” into that caused this problem and it was not intended, then there would be a good chance that Monterey would return everything back to “normal” icc profiles in 11.6.2 is a purposeful change, then it should be carried forward into Monterey. Logic was that if the change in how the macOS handles. I made a Time Machine back-up of the 11.6.2 set-up so I could at least return to it and went ahead and installed Monterey macOS 12.1 (as suggested by Apple - really nothing to loose as it can be undone). I have a robust back up system for my data but evidently a flawed one for the operating system as only one Big Sur cloned disk worked (out of 3) but I was able us sit to verify that all was as it should be in Big Sur 11.6.1 but not in 11.6.2.Īs I did not have a Time Machine backup of 11.6.1, I could not quickly return to 11.6.1 (as as the person writing below did). No easy solution if using Big Sur 11.6.2.

I know this is definitely an issue with the latest 'patch' applied to Colorsync in the Big Sur 11.6.2 update, because my old Mac Pro is using exactly the same ICC printer profile files without any problems.ĭiscussed issue with Apple. As a 'workaround' I have managed to set up 'screen sharing' so I can still print using my M1 Mini via my old 2013 Mac Pro running Mojave. I need my printer for work, so a consistent, calibrated colour output is vital in order for me to continue working. I have checked, and my ICC profiles are still there, in the correct folder, (HD/Users/username/library/colorsync/profiles), where they have always been. When I launch the ColorSync Utility, my custom ICC profiles are missing from the profiles list, and I no longer have the option to select them in the Colorsync print settings menu when trying to print from any app in Big Sur. Two days ago I updated my M1 Mac Mini with the latest Big Sur 11.6.2 security update, my Mac now refuses to let me use the custom ICC profiles, created using the Datacolor SpyderPRINT hardware and software, for my Epson Surecolor T3200 printer.
